Our Sunday morning gathering is the foundation of church life at HBBC. With Bible Classes for all ages and a family worship service centered around a Bible-based sermon there’s no better way to learn to live God’s mission than by gathering in His presence every Sunday. Won’t you join us?
Sunday Morning Schedule
9:30AM | Bible Classes—
Our Sunday morning begins at 9:30am with Bible Classes for all ages. We offer nursery care at this time as well as classes for toddlers, preschoolers, grade-schoolers and youth. We also offer two different classes for adults to choose from.
10:45AM | Family Worship—
Bible classes usually end by 10:30am which allows a fifteen-minute break before our family worship service begins at 10:45am. Our worship service usually ends by noon but some folks like to stick around and visit for quite a while afterward.
Family Worship — 10:45AM
Our family worship service begins at 10:45am. The service consists of worship through singing, testimony, prayer, Scripture reading and a Bible message from one of our pastors. We also periodically share in the Lord’s Supper together (usually on the first Sunday of the month) during this time. Other meaningful faith events such as baptisms, child-dedications and missions updates also take place during family worship as appropriate.
Worshipping With Children—
At HBBC we want Sunday worship to be a family experience. We love it when kids worship alongside their parents, even if they're not perfectly behaved. We also understand that sitting through a worship service is a challenge for some kids and that can also detract from a parent's worship experience. Many parents choose to keep younger children with them throughout the worship service. Others find their kids benefit from special attention.
Children 3 and under are welcome in the nursery (on the North end of the basement) throughout the service. At the beginning of the sermon children from ages 3 to 6 are invited downstairs for children's church. Quiet activity bags are available in the rear of the sanctuary for younger children. There's a sermon notes sheet available at the welcome table that older kids can turn in in for awards points after the service. Parents of kids who need more freedom to move or make noise can watch the sermon live from the youth room (West edge of the top floor).
Sunday Bible Classes — 9:30AM
Children under two are welcome in the nursery during the 9:30am hour. The nursery is located along the North wall on the basement level. Preschool students meet in the classroom West of the main fellowship area in the basement. We use the “Planting Faith” curriculum from Regular Baptist Press for our youngest students.
Our students from Kindergarten through 6th grade meet in the sanctuary on the main level at 9:30am for a time of interaction and singing. After this warm-up time they break into smaller groups by age and meet in classrooms for a creative Bible lesson. We use the Orange 252 curriculum for our grade-schoolers. Orange 252 has an excellent website that kids and parents can access any time. They also offer a smartphone app to help parents follow up on what kids are learning on Sunday mornings.
The youth Sunday School class meets upstairs in the youth room on the West end of the building. This class for Jr. High and High School students offers an interactive Bible lesson with teen-focused application.
Adults have two classes to choose from. A lecture style Bible class meets in the large classroom on the main level just North of the Sanctuary. A second, discussion-based Bible class meets in the main fellowship area of the basement. All classes are open to visitors at any time.
Parking is available in the gravel lot to the South of the building. On Sundays, those attending HBBC also have permission to use the "Blondies" customer only parking spots in this lot. Street parking is also available on Lexington Ave. and both 3rd and 4th streets.
