At Hastings Berean we understand that following Jesus means more than showing up for church on Sunday mornings. That’s why we offer a variety of groups to help build relationships, gain insights and find encouragement as we learn to live God’s mission together. Here are some of the group ministries that we currently offer.

Life Groups

Life groups are smaller groups who meet together regularly over a long period of time. They usually meet in the home of a group member. Groups vary in size and format as well as length and frequency of meetings. Group meetings often involve Bible study, prayer for one another and informal fellowship time. Despite their differences every life group provides an environment that allows its members to share life in Christ together on a deeper level. Contact the Church office for more information about Life Groups or if you’re interested in starting or joining a group.

Youth group

Our youth group is called Coram Deo which means “before the face of God”. The group meets Sunday from 2pm to 3:30pm at the church building and is open to all Jr. High and High School students. Pastor Sonny leads these students in a fun time that encourages them to experience God’s presence in their daily lives. During the group meeting students enjoy the opportunity to hang out with each other, play games and hear a Bible lesson designed to help them learn to live God’s mission. Our Youth group also engages in a variety of special events and service opportunities throughout the year. Check out the events page  or their FaceBook page to see what the Coram Deo group has coming up.

The 3rd

It can be hard to get connected at a church full of people who already know each other.  That’s why on the third Sunday of every month Hastings Berean puts on a special meal specifically for folks who want to get to know others at church better. Known simply as “The 3rd”, church members provide food for a meal that takes place directly after the worship gathering, providing them with an opportunity to share a meal and some conversation with people they may not yet know very well. If you’re new-ish or just want a chance to better connect with our church family, please join us after church on the next third Sunday of the month!

Women's Ministry

There are many different opportunities for women to serve and be encouraged spiritually at HBBC. The church offers Women’s Bible Studies, quarterly social events, and many other places to serve! Some of the women’s teams that minister at different events include:
Berean 31 Groups - help organize and serve at church sponsored events;
Decorating Committee - keeps the church looking festive for each season;
Shower Coordinators – organize and plan wedding and baby showers for those attending HBBC;
Berean ACTS Team – plan and organize women’s social events;
Funeral Dinners – plan and serve a meal at memorial services held at HBBC;
Kitchen Cleaning Crew – clean and organize the kitchen on a monthly basis.

All of teams report to the Women's Ministry Leadership Team. If interested in helping with a certain team or in a certain area, please e-mail the Women's Ministry Team

Men's Ministry

The mission of the Men’s Ministry is to facilitate and uphold the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in men’s lives through the studying of God’s Word, fellowship, prayer, and service. If you are interested in joining a study or would like more information, email a Men's Ministry leader.

Bible Studies

Throughout the year the church sponsors a number of Bible Studies. Studies vary in subject matter and approach as well as whom they’re geared toward. To see current and upcoming Bible Study options, contact the Church office for more information.
